Terms & Conditions
Introduction
These terms and conditions form the basis of the contract through which the European Council of Social Sciences (EUCSS, we or us) will deliver a service to you as an EUCSS fellow (you). On becoming a fellow of EUCSS you agree to these terms and conditions and that we will handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Statement.
When you join the European Council of Social Sciences (EUCSS) as a » fellow «, you are subscribing to a service from EUCSS. The word «fellow» or «fellowship» refers to your subscription or your status as a subscriber to the service but not for a full membership.

Fellowship Eligibility
Individual fellowship of EUCSS is open to students, alumni, and faculty of social sciences disciplines and applied social sciences programmes accredited by EUCSS, a list of which can be found on our website.
If you are unsure of your eligibility please email fellowship@eucss.eu and include your School name, programme name and graduation or expected graduation date.
The individuals may be eligible for fellowship even they school or programmes are not accredited if are certifited by EUCSS.
Fellowship Benefits
The benefits of being a fellow of EUCSS are summarised on our website here. It is these benefits, plus further services that we deem of interest and relevance to our fellows, that constitute the service of EUCSS fellowship.
Fellowship Contract
When you click to submit your application on line, or you fax, post, telephone or email us with details of your application, you are making an offer to subscribe to EUCSS which, if accepted by us, will result in a legally binding contract.
Fellows subscribed by submitting thier application accepting and adopting the EUCSS statutes and its internal regulations
Fellowship Period
EUCSS Fellowship is a fee chargeable to eligible individuals and is valid for one year from the date when a fellow has joined or applied and their application has been approved. Fellows may renew thier fellowship for equal periods automaticlly by paying thier fellowship fees and pass their anual continuas education credits if aplicable.
Fellows subscribed to this fellowship will be subject to a renewal process whilst this type of fellowship is in place.
Free fellowship may receive notifications from EUCSS requesting and reminding them to update their fellow profile. At all ways the free fellowship is subject of eucss oard approval
Servicing your Fellowship
You may make use of your EUCSS fellowship services by browsing our website(s) and logging in to and engaging within the fellow area of our website(s), taking part in research, using partner benefits, attending events and reading division´s articles.
You will also receive email messages containing fellow news and information relating to the services which form part of your fellowship, including but not limited to:
- Welcome email(s)
- Fellow newsletters
- Event invitations
- Research participation invitations
- Call of paper submission
EUCSS considers these to be essential service communications to fulfil our obligations to you as a fellow of EUCSS, allowing you to make use of the benefits and resources to which you have subscribed. You may, however, unsubscribe from emails at any time.
Cancellation of Fellowship
You may resign your fellowship of EUCSS at any point by emailing fellowship@eucss.eu.
Please note that the EUCSS does not offer full or partial refunds on fellowship, and reserves the right to charge an administration fee for payments made to the council by fellows.
Business Code
EUCSS expects of its fellows the highest standards of dignity, fairness and integrity. These values and expectations form the basis of EUCSS’s code of business which individuals accept as part of fellowship. Fellows agree to the following:
- Fellows accepting and respecting the EUCSS statutes and its internal regulations
- Products and services provided by the EUCSS must be used to assist personal development and individual fellow to fellow networking only.
- Fellows must refrain from the harvesting of fellows’ contact information for the formation of unauthorised mailing lists
- Fellows should avoid overt selling to other fellows at events or through other means such as email or telephone spamming
- The unauthorised use of the EUCSS logo by fellows is prohibited without previous permission
- Any information or materials provided by the EUCSS for restricted use by its fellows must not be shared with any third parties
Fellow passwords and access codes to password protected areas of the EUCSS website are strictly for the use of the individuals to which they were issued. They may not be shared with any third party or unauthorised person.
Events
Fellows may be invited to events organised by EUCSS or by its partners if such events are considered to be of value and benefit to fellows as e.g. educational and networking opportunities. Events may be subject to separate terms and conditions.
Force majeure
EUCSS shall not be liable for any delay or non-performance of its obligations by reason of matters beyond its control including, but not limited to, any act of terrorism, war, riot, system down, internet services problems, civil commotion, compliance with any law or government order, fire, flood or storm, strikes, or any other industrial dispute, delay in transit, power failure, postal delay, or any event that cannot be reasonably planned for or avoided.
In those circumstances EUCSS will recommence delivery of services as soon as is reasonably possible.
Liability
Our liability to you will not extend to any fellowship related benefits, goods or services provided by an external provider. We specifically exclude liability for any loss or damage suffered by you as a result of your involvement in whatever manner with an external provider.
Our liability to you in the event of publications being lost in dispatch shall be limited to replacement of the missing issues.
Variation
We may change these terms and conditions at any time upon giving you without notice. The most recent edition of these terms and conditions will be binding upon you.
Price Information
Any fees displayed on EUCSS website(s) are subject to change without notice.
We reserve the right to increase the price of products, services, fees or introduce further chargeable services at any time. If this would be related to services subscribed to by existing fellows, fellows will be informed.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by Spanish law. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Spanish courts notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based.
If a court or competent authority decides that any of the provisions of these Terms are invalid, unlawful or unenforceable to any extent, the term will, to that extent only, be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Third Parties
A person who is not party to these Terms shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts.
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede and extinguish all previous editions of the Terms and Conditions, promises, assurances, warranties, representations and understandings between them, whether written or oral, relating to its subject matter.
